While doing some rearrangement on my craft materials lately, I found a few packs of 1 inches unfinished wooden cube blocks deep inside my cabinet. I recalled that I bought these blocks for the intention to make the Dice Game where PaperAndPea guest posted the DIY tutorial at Craft Passion 2 years ago. Oh gosh, I really have lots of treasures hiding inside my craft room hahaha. My to-do list is way too long to keep up with my pace, now my kids are too big for the dice game, I have to turn these blocks idea to another DIY craft. Here it is, the DIY Wooden Letter Cubes in Winter holiday and Christmas Theme.
This little wooden letter cubes block set looks great as a decorative item for your home. Besides letting the letter cubes sitting on the same place, you may also turn them into a game. Give a list of words to the player and let he/she finds the letters from the blocks to assemble. Time the progress and the fastest player to complete the task wins the game.
This is an easy craft and bigger kids can do it on their own, younger kids might need some helps from adult when dealing with cutting. The set of this letter cubes is a combination of 24 blocks with letters up to 6 sides of the cube but you may opt to not using all the 6 sides. You may plan you own set of words or use the suggested words for Winter Christmas theme, such as:
Let It Snow
Merry Christmas
Joy Love Peace Kisses
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Season Greetings
Gifts Presents Holiday Hugs
Cold Snow Warm Sweaters
If Kisses Were Snowflakes
Drink Cocoa Be Happy
Baby It’s Cold Outside
Hello December
Keep On Dreaming
On top of lettering the cube blocks, you may also design them into snowman or other character, such as Mickey Mouse, Robots, Monster, Minions etc. Mix and match the blocks to turn the character into something different. The kids will have lots of fun, giggling with all the funny matching they can make. Here is my snowmen and it seems like they are melting.
Who doesn’t love this? *** Santa Claus Is Coming To Town *** I am sure kids love to see this, even adults love it too hahaha.
How about Snowman and Merry Christmas?
There are many other words you can put up, adapt it for other occasions and celebrations, the possibilities are endless.
