Raccoon Amigurumi Pattern

I promised Mr. Furu the Fox Amigurumi to make a companion for him so that he won’t feel lonely in the woods. To make his life more interesting, I have decided to make a Raccoon Amigurumi which shares the same ecological niche as Fox, and, both are also predators and scavengers.

Jr. Rakku, the Raccoon Amigurumi is rather different from the general character of his own kind, he is young, gentle and innocent, he trusts everything that others told him. Perhaps Mr. Furu could teach him a little old fox trick to make him smarter to survive in the woods.

Jr. Rakku, the Raccoon Amigurumi measures about 10 inches tall. It was crochet by using a 3.5mm crochet hook in the colorwork of Gray, white and black Acrylic yarns. Unlike normal amigurumi crochet method, the pattern of raccoon amigurumi calls for “Split Single Crochet Stitch“, some may know it as “Crochet Knit Stitch” or “Waistcoat Stitch” where the hook is inserted in between the legs of the next stitch. By way of using Split Single Crochet Stitch in this pattern, it will keep the colorwork vertically straight throughout the round. (Warnings: Please do not attempt to crochet it with normal single crochet (US terms), it won’t work in correct proportion.)

How enjoy is Jr. Rakku bathing under the falling maple leaves during the Fall Season? He has a peaceful life with neither fights nor arguments, easy going and does what he loves any time anywhere.
